Who We Serve

Built for four kinds
of South African investors.

We don’t manage money for everyone. We manage it for people with a clear intention — those who believe that patient, disciplined investing is the surest path to financial freedom.

Archetype 01

The Ambitious Professional

You are 25–35, building a career with intent. Your income is rising and you refuse to let it sit idle. You want a structured, long-term home for your money — one that grows with the same discipline you bring to your career. You are not speculating. You are architecting your future.

“She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.” — Proverbs 31:16

Archetype 02

The Single Mother

You carry the weight of family and the wisdom of doing it alone. At 30–40, you are thinking beyond the month, beyond the year. You want diversification and long-term safety — a portfolio that works while you do. Your savings deserve a permanent, purposeful home.

“She arose also, and her daughters in law with her… the LORD deal kindly with you.” — Ruth 1:6–8

Archetype 03

The Business Builder

Your business generates excess capital beyond your reinvestment needs. Rather than let cash erode, you want it deployed with intelligence. You seek a trusted, regulated partner — someone who speaks your language and understands the discipline of compound returns.

“The profit from the earth is for all; even the king is served from the field.” — Ecclesiastes 5:9

Archetype 04

The Informed Self-Investor

You have ideas and a portfolio, but want structure and accountability. You are looking for a thinking partner — someone to help trim, focus and validate your approach using rigorous Graham-style analysis. You bring the curiosity; we bring the framework.

“Plans are established by seeking advice; so if you wage war, obtain guidance.” — Proverbs 20:18

“He who had gathered little did not have too little. He who had gathered much did not have too much.”

Genesis 41:25–36  |  The Wisdom of Joseph’s Seven-Year Plan
Investment Philosophy

The Graham tradition,
applied to African markets.

I

Safety of Principal

Capital preservation is non-negotiable. Every investment is tested against predetermined debt ratios and balance-sheet strength before a rand is deployed.

II

Margin of Safety

We buy good businesses at prices that provide a meaningful buffer below intrinsic value. Sentiment-driven weakness is our opportunity, not our threat.

III

Long-Term Perspective

Short-term volatility is noise. We measure success in years, not quarters. Our target is 12.5% compounded over 5–10 years, benchmarked against 10-year treasury bonds.

IV

Rigorous Analysis

Every position is grounded in fundamental research — earnings, dividends, debt, and price. We read 10-K filings and annual reports the way others read news.

V

Transparency

You have direct access to your EasyEquities account at all times. Your money is yours. We are your agent, not your custodian. Open books. Open communication.

Our Story

Fourteen years of scars,
lessons, and compounding.

Every serious investor has a scar event. Here is ours — and everything that followed.

JSE Trading Floor 2012
2012 — First Capital at Risk

First Shares Purchased in African Bank

Gifted capital enters equity markets for the first time. First exposure to real risk, real consequence, and the emotional volatility of price fluctuation. Capital markets reward discipline, not optimism — a lesson felt rather than read.

This is the origin story.

2014 — Total Loss: African Bank Collapse

Investment Wiped Out

Concentration risk realised in full. The difference between price and intrinsic value becomes viscerally understood. The emotional tuition fee is paid early — an education no classroom could replicate.

Every serious investor has a scar event. This is yours.

African Bank branch
The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham
2015 — Discovery of Ben Graham

Studies The Intelligent Investor

The intellectual pivot. Value investing methodology adopted. Focus shifts from speculation to margin of safety. Process begins replacing emotion as the governing framework for every capital decision.

A methodology born from discipline, not hope.

2016 — Brexit Stress Test

Portfolio of ~R100k Survives the Brexit Shock

Methodology validated under real-world stress. The margin of safety principle holds. Behaviour under extreme volatility emerges as a durable competitive edge.

Markets test conviction before they reward it.

Lewis Stores South Africa
2017 — First Clear Graham-Style Value Play

Lewis Identified as True Net-Value Opportunity

The first textbook Graham criteria investment. Balance-sheet–driven approach deepened. Proof that South African markets contain meaningful mispricings for the patient, analytical investor.

2018 — Academic & Analytical Foundation

Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences, Monash University

Security Analysis by Graham & Dodd studied formally. Technical accounting competence acquired. Transition from retail investor to analytical investor complete. Accounting literacy becomes a durable competitive advantage.

Monash University South Africa campus
2019 — Regulatory Attempt & Failure

RE1 & RE5 Attempted. Score: 62.5%

The regulatory threshold (65%) was not met on first attempt. A humbling and important moment — it marks the deliberate transition toward formal, regulated financial services professionalism. Failure here matters.

COVID-19 market dislocation 2020
2020 — COVID Dislocation & Firm Launch

Finance Hut Capital Launched in December 2020

COVID creates deep value across equity markets. Capital deployed with conviction during the dislocation. Finance Hut Capital launched with AUM exceeding R500k at inception. Transition from personal portfolio to fiduciary management complete.

Crisis births conviction-based firms.

2021–2023 — Institutionalisation Phase

2 → 8 Clients. RE1, RE5 & Class of Business Certifications Obtained.

AUM approaches R1m. Regulatory compliance achieved. Governance strengthened. External capital providers extending trust validates the approach.

2024 — R1m AUM Milestone

AUM Crosses R1 Million. The Bible Finance Journey Begins.

A psychological and operational threshold crossed. The exploration of spiritual financial principles begins — understanding stewardship as a calling, not merely a craft.

2025 — Scale Inflection

15 Clients. R2.5m AUM.

More than 2x capital growth in a single year. Trust compounds alongside capital. The network of investors deepens through discipline and demonstrated results.

2026 — Public Launch

Finance Hut Capital Website Launched

An open invitation to disciplined investors. Transition from relationship-based growth to institutional visibility. Fourteen years of work, made visible.

This is not just marketing. It is transparency.
